Rafting the Nile was fantastic. The river is incredibly wide and very clean. The rapids were rally just a small part of the overall trip. The rest we spent on a relaxing float down the river: swimming, eating pineapple, and basking in the sun. Pictures that were taken for us (for purchase of course) below.
I guess the only negative thing about the weekend was noting all the extreme poverty driving up to and from the rafting experience. As much fun as I had rafting, I couldn't escape a twinge of guilt while riding in a big red truck full of privileged foreigners waving back to smiling kids on the streets without clothes. The mud and brick huts the families live in make our own accommodations look like palaces. (pictures to follow).
